Immigrants and the Word of God

FPU Biblical Seminary’s Center for Community Transformation is proud to partner with Fresno Pacific University’s Biblical & Religious Studies Division, FPU’s Advancing Latino Academic Success (ALAS) program, FPU’s Office of Spiritual Formation and the FPU & Biblical Seminary Council of Senior Professionals to host the Janzen Lectureship in Biblical Studies featuring Dr. Daniel Carroll R. (Rodas), Blanchard Professor of Old testament from Wheaton College.

Dr. Carroll will help us hear the voice of the minor profits of the Old Testament in their context and time and lead us to consider how their words of challenge and comfort to God’s people in the Ancient Near East might serve as a challenge and a comfort to us in 21st Century North America. We will be asked to consider what the implications of ignoring their word might be and how we might live into their vision of God’s kingdom. And we will be encouraged to listen carefully to these messengers and hear how God might be speaking to us today through them.

You will have multiple opportunities to meet and hear FPU’s guest. Saturday’s event will be delivered in Spanish:
