The math is quite simple. A donor has offered to fund the expansion of our micro enterprise initiative. If we can raise $15,000, they will match it. That $30,000 will then help expand our Launch Central Valley micro enterprise training program that has proved incredibly fruitful. We have now helped 67 micro enterprises get started, and 48% of them are operating. Many of them were begun by individuals experiencing tremendous challenges in their lives, some having been previously incarcerated, and others having to overcome diverse sets of barriers to generate legitimate revenue for the families and begin a pathway to stability.
If we want different outcomes in our city, want the gospel to have an impact in a way that affects the Shalom of families that are struggling, we have to make an investment.
