Who is Launchpad for?
Launchpad was specifically designed to reach Learners fitting one or more of the following descriptions: low-to-moderate-income; no college degree; immigrant; career-changing; those whose life story contains poverty and/or exlusion; women; and people of color. Put another way, Launchpad was designed to reach people who have been historically excluded from fully participating in enterpreneurship and business ownership.
Notwithstanding, the skills taught in Launchpad are essential to all businesses and would benefit any leader of a business, nonprofit, department, or initiative. Launchpad is also uniquely well-suited to teach individuals who desire to start a social impact business or social enterprise.
Launchpad is designed for adult learners and typically proves most
effective for learners aged 18-50.
What minimum skills do Learners need to be ready for Launchpad?
Learners should be able to read, write, and speak English at an eighth-grade level.
To utilize the online version of the Launchpad curriculum Learners must be able to open/use a web browser; send/receive e-mail using Gmail; type; save documents to their computer; and utilize the selected video conference tool.
Who leads Learners through the curriculum?
You recruit a Trainer from within your community to lead Learners through Launchpad. Trainers should have experience starting or leading a business, nonprofit, or department thereof. Trainers can be paid or volunteer; if paid it is up to your organization to cover the payment.
It will take Trainers approximately 1-hour per week to prepare for Group Session, 2 hours per week to lead Group Session, and approximtely 1 hour per week to meet with and/or respond to questions from Learners.
Is Launchpad asynchronous or trainer-led?
Each week of Launchpad consists of a Warm-Up that is completed prior to Group Session; Group Session when all Learners gather together (in-person or live onine via video) with the Trainer; and Cool-Down. Learners complete Warm-Up and Cool-Down independently, on their own; Group Session is led by the Trainer.
How many Learners can participate in a single Launchpad training?
Each week of Launchpad consists of a Warm-Up that is completed prior to Group Session; Group Session when all Learners gather together (in-person or live online via video) with the Trainer; and Cool-Down. Learners complete Warm-Up and Cool-Down independently, on their own; Group Session is led by the Trainer.
Is Launchpad taught in-person or by video?
Launchpad can be taught in-person, by video, or in a hybrid fashion. CCT teaches Launchpad by video for Weeks 1-6, and then gathers the Cohort to meet in-person for Week 7.
Does Launchpad train my Trainer?
Launchpad provides up to 3 calls for up to 30-minutes each session with you, your Trainer, and/or anyone from your organization who you desire at no additional expenses. You may record and save a video of these trainings.
Additional training can be purchased at a rate of $100 per hour.
Does Launchpad provide tech support?
Launchpad will review and respond to all technical support questions in writing, at least, within 1 business day.
Do Learners pay a fee to participate in Launchpad?
It is entirely up to you whether Learners pay a fee to participate in Launchpad. Learners are not required to pay any fee to Launchpad to participate in the Launchpad training that you are leading. CCT has found that a modest fee is sometimes helpful in order to ensure that they are sufficiently committed to active participation in the training. If you choose to charge a fee to Learners the resulting income would belong to you, not Launchpad.
What does the fee that I pay Launchpad cover?
The fee that you pay Launchpad covers one 7-week training for up to 20 indivdual Learners. A complete list of inclusions and exclusions will be provided to you in your license agreement at the time of purchase.
What technology does Launchpad provide and what technology do I provide?
Launchpad provides the learning management system (LMS) through which Learner and Trainer can access and complete the curriculum online and a PDF that you can share with Learners who desire/prefer paper materials. The LMS includes the slides that the Trainer will use to lead Group Session. If you desire to meet via video, it is your responsibility to subscribe to a video meeting service and share access with your Learners. If you desire to meet in-person your space should include a large screen where the Trainer can display slides during Group Session.
